Film: my love
I love film. I love it for the message, laughter and joy it brings into our lives. I love it because your perspective is enhanced with each new story. I love it because, if you're having a bad day, you can entangle your mind with something else for a little while. I love it because it makes you feel less alone in the world. I love it because it's my life. I don't know how to be anything but an artist. Sometimes, that's scary. People ask, "What's your real job," expecting doctor, waitress or secretary. In fact, I'm none of those things - and yet have been all of those things through the wonderful world of imagination. How incredible is that?
I work every day to make this crazy dream come true, but today feels like a new beginning. Today, I hired someone to help me navigate the spots in which I am failing: those pesky irritants that urge you to give up on the parts that do bring you joy. I refuse to let that happen and it feels like I am finally investing in my future in a significant way. This industry is tough enough without my mind contributing to the naysaying. This gives me a plan for my voice. This is taking action - and, man, it feels fucking good.
Cheers to an amazing 2020, you beautiful beatniks. Be kind. Be mindful. Be wise.
